Just like every other year, each country comes together for one event and provides each athlete with the chance to claim rights to the fastest rider of the respective country. For whatever reason, the Kiwi’s always seem to have the some of the stiffest competition around.
Riders like Sam Blenkinsop(left) and Wyn Masters(right) get their training programs going early in effort to claim the title in the early season race.
Matt Walker was ready to throw down and did everything he could to muster up the fastest time down the mountain.
The day was a windy one, but that didn’t stop the riders from pushing the limits. Rupert Chapman(left) and Brook MacDonald(right) kept it pinned.
The top spot, though, belonged to Eddie Masters. He was the fastest, and smoothest down the course and was overall pumped to be the New Zealand National Champ.
Following him in would be Brook MacDonald in 2nd and Matt Walker in 3rd.
